Parent and Family Newsletter

JULY 2021

Dear Regis parents and families,

We are thrilled to welcome our students back to campus this fall! As the end of the summer approaches, we look forward to the many opportunities we will have to build community with our incoming students and re-connect with our returning students.

Throughout the year, we will be sending parent and family newsletters with important information relevant to your student's experience at Regis. I hope you will find these newsletters helpful to you and your family. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns, or if you simply want to discuss your Regis experience thus far. I look forward to working with you!

With Pride,

Anabella Morabito, MA

Assistant Dean of Student Affairs
Parent and Family Liaison

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

As we prepare for a full return to in-person classes and full capacity in the residence halls this fall, Regis continues to monitor and adhere to local and state public health guidance and make updates to our protocols. You can view the latest guidelines, COVID-19 vaccine dashboard, and resources here.

All students, faculty, and staff who will live, learn, and work on campus or who will participate in Regis in-person activities are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Monday, August 16. Students are required to submit their vaccine documentation via their CastleBranch and CoVerified accounts by August 16. Download CoVerified for Apple, Android, or visit the webpage. Students should log in to their account using their Regis email address and password.

Included below are links to documents with additional information about Regis' COVID-19 vaccine requirement. Please contact the COVID-19 team with any questions.

Important Housing Application Reminder

Our 2021-2022 housing application is currently live. If your student is planning to live on campus, please remind them to submit their housing application on the Adirondack Portal.

If your student has a roommate in mind, please make sure they connect with their roommate on the portal by the July 16 deadline. If they do not have a specific roommate in mind, they will be assigned a roommate based on the preferences they provide. A full step-by-step video outlining the process can be found on our housing selection webpage.

Please contact our Office of Residence Life with any questions.

Fall 2021 Billing Information

Students registered for fall 2021 courses can now view their statements on the Regis Hub. Payment is due by August 6.

An overview of how students can view and pay their bills can be found here. Payment plans are available and allow for smaller, affordable payments instead of paying a balance in one large lump sum. For more information and to enroll in a payment plan, please click here.

Please contact Student Accounts with any questions.

Orientation Leaders Prep for Incoming Students

Regis' newest orientation leaders spent a week in June learning more about the institution – and themselves – as they prepare to serve as a welcoming force and support system for the Class of 2025, which arrives on campus this fall.

Due to the pandemic, Regis’ first-year orientation will look a little different this summer. Instead of the traditional overnight orientation held in June, students attended a virtual welcome in June, will come to campus during one of three visit days in July and August, and will participate in additional programming on September 1 after move-in.

Therapeutic Surfs Up

Regis students Heather Vaughn ’21, and Mallytza Ibarra ’22, are hitting the waves up and down the New England coast this summer. But they aren’t going just the two of them.

The therapeutic recreation students are completing their practicum this summer with AmpSurf New England, an adaptive surf therapy non-profit organization. Each weekend, they work with individuals – from children to older adults – with life-long disabilities, introduce them to surfing, and enjoy some time by the ocean.

Say Her Name, Discover Her Life

For Lawana Brown and Faydene Small-Jones, the story of Breonna Taylor – not the one the media has focused on about the end of her life but about all that came before – hit close to home. To these two veteran nurses, the loss of the dynamic, devoted emergency medical technician who aspired to become a member of their profession resonated powerfully and personally.

Small-Jones and Brown got the opportunity to find out first-hand in a candid and compelling conversation with Tamika Palmer, the mother of Breonna and her younger sister Ju'Niyah.
