There are several changes for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year which will impact the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and has delayed the application opening date to December 2023.
Changes to the 2024-2025 FAFSA include fewer application questions, requirements to use data directly from the IRS to calculate Student Aid Index (SAI), and changes to reporting of parental income for divorced/separated families and families with small business assets.
