On behalf of the Regis community, welcome to the Pride! My name is Colleen Curran, and I'm a rising senior Neuroscience major from Woburn, Massachusetts. Regis has given me the opportunity to thrive in so many ways, including participating in Student Government, playing on the Women's soccer and track and field teams, gaining valuable experience in neurodevelopmental and ovarian cancer research, and making life-long connections I will carry with me forever!

The experiences I have had, skills I've gained, and friendships I've made at Regis will follow me long after I graduate. As you begin preparing for your own Regis journey, I want to share some of my favorite things about being a member of the Pride: 

• The family-oriented community: At Regis, you're never a stranger. In fact, you can't walk across campus without running into someone you know! There's constant support, whether it's your friends showing up to your club events, athletic contests, or even just encouraging you in the classroom every day. Regis is truly a home away from home where you can build meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime.
• The campus traditions: From Founders' Day and Convocation to Regis Fest and the Christmas Tree Lighting, there is always something happening on campus. My favorite day of the year is the Spring Classic Track Meet! It's our only home meet and an incredible day to honor our senior class. It's a special opportunity to compete with my teammates whose energy and dedication make the experience unforgettable. I also love seeing my friends and professors come down to the track between classes—it truly reflects how our whole community comes together!
• The quad: It's hard to choose just one favorite place on campus because I love spending time outside. Whether I'm playing soccer at the field, walking through the Great Lawn, or getting work done on the College Hall foyer, I love being outdoors. However, when the weather is nice, the quad is definitely my go-to spot! It's the perfect place to relax, catch up with friends, and simply just enjoy being on campus.
• The professors & faculty: Stepping into my first college class felt intimidating, but I quickly learned that everyone from the Regis community is here to help you succeed. Professors like Dr. Bishop, Dr. Hogan, and Dr. Threlkeld have supported me every step of the way, providing me with not only opportunities to grow, but also the encouragement I needed to thrive.
• The student-athlete community: Being a part of the athletic community at Regis not only allows me to compete in the sports I love, but challenges me to build resilience, time management, and leadership skills that I will benefit me long after I graduate. Coaches Alex Macpherson and Kiera Murray have not only shaped me into the player I am today, but the person as well. And what makes it even more meaningful is being surrounded by teammates who support me on and off the field.

There is so much for you to look forward to at Regis. As someone who was in your shoes not too long ago, my biggest piece of advice would be to get involved right away! Never doubt yourself, always keep a positive mindset, work hard, and most importantly, don't be afraid to ask for help.
